Ausgrid Sustainability Report highlights its support of the transition to net zero through ESG actions

The FY23 Sustainability Report describes how Ausgrid has addressed environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues through innovation programs to support communities through the energy transition to achieve net zero.

Today, Ausgrid has published its annual Sustainability Report, outlining the important sustainability efforts made last financial year.

The ‘Towards net zero’ report highlights significant sustainability milestones for Ausgrid and its customers, including a $228 saving in annual network charges per customer since 2014, 92% first contact resolution and over 19,000 tonnes of waste avoided by recycling surplus or redundant equipment. In addition, Ausgrid installed Australia’s first power pole-mounted public electric vehicle chargers on network assets and our first 2 pole-mounted batteries.

Ausgrid Sustainability Manager, Craig Wilson, said the Sustainability Report is a clear indication of the important role network distributors like Ausgrid play in enabling net zero.

Ausgrid undertook extensive consultation with customers across the network, which revealed our communities want us to do more than continue to deliver safe, reliable and affordable energy services. They also want a more resilient grid that supports the transition to net zero.
