Working at Ausgrid has enhanced my studies in electrical engineering by adding a practical component to the degree that most students miss.

The work I’ve done at Ausgrid has been fantastic. In one of my placements I was able to see how the whole high voltage network fitted together, and was given the responsibility of coordinating maintenance to ensure the system would cope under emergency situations.

I’ve also been involved in investigating boring a large tunnel under the city for power cables, and putting a cable crossing across Australia’s busiest ports – Port Botany.

The field of power engineering is universal, has great opportunities for travel, and is definitely diverse. I strongly recommend the program to anyone considering electrical engineering, or looking for a challenging and rewarding career.

The Ausgrid program is one of the most valuable. Undertaking full-time study then work experience means there’s no conflict; it’s also comforting to know that financial support is provided to help you focus on your engineering course.

Unlike other programs, at Ausgrid you gain work experience very early into the degree. Early exposure to the field enables you to discover an area of interest.

A full year of work experience is undertaken before you finish the final year of your degree. It offers a break from full-time study, whilst acquiring valuable experience.

Many of the skills I’ve gained could not have been taught from textbooks. This experience and knowledge has given me great advantages over other university students.

I recommend that anyone who is interested in studying electrical engineering should apply for this highly accredited Ausgrid program.
