Ausgrid gives year 10, 11 or 12 high school and TAFE students the chance to do work experience with us to get the chance to develop possible career options. In addition to placements in our electrical apprenticeship centres in Newcastle, Muswellbrook and Sydney, Ausgrid also offers placement in our Sydney Head Office functions. Find out more.
Work experience placements have been successful in allowing students to:
- Observe a variety of work situations
- Undertake safe and well-supervised work appropriate to a student’s skill level
- Ask questions about the workplace
- Find out about training and employment opportunities
Ausgrid offers work experience during specific dates, which are listed on the relevant placement pages. No other dates will be considered, and no other duration other than the stated duration can be accommodated. Naturally, work experience is voluntary and unpaid.
Ausgrid will only accept applications for work experience from students. No applications will be accepted from organisations representing students.
