To help prevent electrical accidents around your home and in your community, we have developed a program to teach primary school students about electrical safety, what to do in an emergency and how to behave around electricity. The Teacher's Lab is the internet companion to the Teacher's Resource Kit.

The Electricity and Safety Unit for Stage 3 students includes eight lessons about electricity and safety. These have been developed by Ausgrid in line with the NSW Board of Studies PDHPE, Science & Technology and English syllabuses.

Primary schools located in the Ausgrid network distribution area (Sydney, Central Coast and the Hunter) can request an electrical resource kit to assist in the implementation of the Unit in classrooms.  The resource kit contains a circuit board as well as other key materials to undertake experiments.  Click here to order a kit for your school.

Ausgrid also run Electricity Safety Week in primary schools in Sydney, Central Coast and the Hunter each September. Activity and prize packs are provided to registered schools.  Click here for more information.
