Tariff reform process

Ausgrid is seeking feedback from our customers and the community about how we set our future tariffs. Your views will help shape the development of our proposed charges for the period 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2019, and beyond.

These network charges will help us maintain a safe, reliable and sustainable electricity supply for our 1.7 million customers.

Our approach to pricing for the 2017-19 period is outlined in our Tariff Structure Statement, which must be submitted to the Australian Energy Regulator for review.

Our tariff proposal also needs to comply with new National Electricity Rules introduced by the Australian Energy Market Commission. These Rules are designed to make tariffs more efficient and ensure they reflect the actual costs of providing network services to individual customers, giving consumers more choice about how they use power.

Our conversation with our customers and stakeholders about network pricing and tariff reform began in 2013, as part of our engagement activities for our revenue determination for the 2014-19 period.

We're continuing to gather feedback about our proposed tariff changes, including their potential impact on a range of consumers.
