The local electricity network is made up of high and low voltage cables which transport electricity from zone substations to homes and businesses. It also includes equipment such as distribution substations and transformers that convert the electricity into the lower voltages needed to run domestic and commercial appliances.
We are currently investing in a number of local projects across our network that may involve the installation of new electrical assets, or the replacement or upgrading of existing electrical equipment.
The projects are being undertaken to improve the reliability of the local electricity supply, increase capacity in the local network or may simply be needed to replace equipment that has reached the end of its service life.
