  • Australian Energy Regulator (AER) (www.aer.gov.au)
    The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) performs economic regulation of the wholesale electricity market and electricity transmission networks in the National Electricity Market (NEM). It is also responsible for the enforcement of the National Electricity Law and National Electricity Rules.
  • Department of Water and Energy - NSW (www.dwe.nsw.gov.au)
    The Department of Water & Energy (DWE) promotes the sustainable, safe, reliable and affordable supply and use of energy and urban water in NSW. The Department is responsible for developing policies and new initiatives on energy demand management along with activities in the areas of greenhouse, water and energy policy and energy network safety and performance.
  • Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal - NSW (www.ipart.nsw.gov.au)
    The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is an independent body that regulates the water, gas, electricity and public transport industries in New South Wales. IPART has produced several reports on the role of demand management in the NSW electricity industry and during 2002 held an Inquiry into the role of demand management and other options in the provision of energy services. IPART also administers the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme and its Register of abatement certificates.
  • International Energy Agency Demand Side Management Programme (www.ieadsm.org)
    The IEA Demand-Side Management Programme is an international collaboration with 17 IEA member countries and the European Commission, working to clarify and promote opportunities for demand-side management (DSM). DSM is defined to include a variety of purposes such as load management, energy efficiency, strategic conservation and related activities. The IEA DSM Programme develops DSM tools which can be used under different regulatory regimes and market structures.
  • National Framework for Energy Efficiency (www.nfee.gov.au)
    The National Framework for Energy Efficiency is being developed on behalf of the Ministerial Council on Energy to define future directions for energy efficiency policy and programs in Australia.
