Network prices

Ausgrid distributes electricity within a defined geographic area through a network of electrical infrastructure (substations, poles and wires).

All electrical distributors including Ausgrid charge energy retailers a use of system fee which is passed onto the customer, for the use of the electrical network infrastructure. The amount charged to customers for the use of the electrical network is regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).

Network price list 2011 - 2012

Network use of system prices for the 2012 financial year. Each price takes into account whether a customer is residential or commercial, the voltage level of the connection, the profile of the consumption, the actual energy consumption, the type of metering at the connection, and a number of other factors. The prices are shown on a both GST inclusive and exclusive basis.

Ausgrid has also implemented the NSW Government's Solar Bonus Scheme and is crediting eligible participating customers.

Standard form customer connection contract

This document applies to all customers connected to the Ausgrid network and who have not entered into a separate negotiated customer connection contract. Under the Contract, Ausgrid has guaranteed customer service standards which include timely provision of services, giving notice before discontinuing supply or arranging disconnection, giving notice after disconnection, repairing faulty street lighting, providing a telephone service for customer queries.

Distribution loss factor calculation methodology paper

Factor Methodology published according to the obligations of National Electricity Rule 3.6.3(g)(2). Distribution Loss Factors are used by energy retailers to account for electrical losses on energy passed through the transmission and distribution system.

IPART Regulation of Excluded Distribution Services, Rule 2004/1, June 2004, requires EnergyAustralia, as a provider of Excluded Distribution Services, to produce an information disclosure document on its Excluded Distribution Services, which: accurately describes these services; sets out their pricing methodology; and sets out the terms and conditions on which they are provided.
