Ausgrid and JOLT Install 25th Free, Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Sydney

Electric vehicle owners and users now have 25 locations to enjoy free, fast charging with the launch of the next Ausgrid JOLT EV charging station in Beecroft.

The Beecroft station, located in Beecroft shops car park, is the 25th station opened after successful unveilings across Sydney, and continues the world first initiative that transforms existing Ausgrid streetside kiosks into state-of the-art JOLT EV charging stations.

Ausgrid’s Head of Commercial Development, Nick Black, said Ausgrid’s priority is to support the continued uptake of electric vehicles, while improving equitable access to charging facilities.

“The chargers across the network have proven incredibly popular. Since install, all 25 chargers have provided enough renewable energy for EVs to travel over 2.5 million kilometres, saving over 250,000 litres of petrol,” Mr Black said.

Repurposing pre-existing infrastructure to continue driving the energy transition means we can roll out chargers like these quickly and efficiently across our network.

JOLT CEO Doug McNamee said, "JOLT is excited to launch our partnership with Ausgrid in the Hornsby Shire, where we've witnessed a rapid increase of EV ownership, with almost 1,000 EVs on Hornsby roads, and growing. JOLT provides 7kwh of free, fast charging to all drivers every day, making EV ownership more accessible for everyone. Drivers can save around $1,000 every year by charging with JOLT".

Ausgrid is committed to rolling out more charging kiosks across the Ausgrid network.
