Ausgrid has joined Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation to brighten the experience of patients spending time at Randwick in the lead up to Christmas.

It’s the second year Ausgrid has supported The Big Switch On to light up the Christmas tree in the hospital’s entry foyer.

Ausgrid Chief Financial Officer Michael Bradburn and Ausgrid employees joined young patients at the launch of the Foundation’s 12 days of Christmas program.

“It’s great to be back here at Sydney Children’s Hospital and everyone at Ausgrid appreciates the opportunity to visit and connect with patients and the great teams looking after them,” said Michael.

Ausgrid employees volunteered to spend time with the patients on a special arts and crafts table during the day.

“It’s a special time of year and we know it can be tough for the children spending it in the Hospital - we hope these lights and the activities bring a little bit of joy to them and their families and the staff over the holiday season.”

Ausgrid joins other companies helping to raise $1 million for the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. The 12 Days of Christmas will include other Christmas craft sessions, toy wrapping, carol performances at the Hospital.

Nicola Stokes, CEO at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation said The Big Switch On and other activities help make the Hospital a home-away-from-home for sick children.

“By spreading festive cheer, companies and community groups are providing much needed distraction, fun and laughter to young patients and their families. It’s such an essential part of the healing process.”
