The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has accepted Ausgrid’s proposal to increase its household network prices by just 2.9 per cent from July 1 2021.
This will add an around $17 annually to the average household electricity bill.
Households are paying on average $65 less on their electricity bill than they were three years ago in 2019, and small businesses pay an average of $201 less.
Ausgrid’s pricing proposal reflects the AER’s determination which sets the revenue distributors can recover from customers for delivering electricity supply every five years. This is the third year of the 2019 – 2024 cycle.
