All electrical distributors including Ausgrid charge energy retailers a use of system fee which is passed onto the customer, for the use of the electrical network infrastructure. The amount charged to customers for the use of the electrical network is regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER).

Your energy retailer sells you the electricity (and gas) for your home or business and bills you for what you use. Residential customers in NSW can choose their energy retailer.
