Ausgrid emergency crews have now restored power to more than 50,000 homes after days of heavy rain and high winds brought down trees and powerlines across the network.

Around 600 customers remain without power - 480 in the Central Coast and 130 in the Newcastle and Hunter area.

These final, complex repairs involve rebuilding parts of the network and gaining access to hard to reach or flooded areas. The majority of these repairs are expected to be completed this evening.
