NS119: Public Lighting and Construction

This Network Standard specifies Ausgrid’s requirements for the design and construction of all public lighting assets and shall apply to all such installations that are to be owned and operated by Ausgrid on behalf of Ausgrid’s Public Lighting Customers. The requirements of this standard shall apply throughout Ausgrid’s supply area for maintenance, contestable and non-contestable projects.

Scope

This Network Standard specifies Ausgrid’s requirements for the design and construction of all public lighting assets and shall apply to all such installations that are to be owned and operated by Ausgrid on behalf of Ausgrid’s Public Lighting Customers. The requirements of this standard shall apply throughout Ausgrid’s supply area for maintenance, contestable and non-contestable projects. 

Where a public lighting project is deemed contestable, the Customer shall use an Accredited Service Provider to complete the electrical design, illumination design where required and construction work. Refer to Ausgrid’s Electricity Supply document ES4 Accredited Service Provider Authorisation. 

For information on privately owned public lighting installations, i.e. installations which are not owned and operated by Ausgrid, refer to Section 8.
