NS195: High Voltage Customer Connections (HVCs)

This Network Standard defines Ausgrid’s technical and procedural requirements for the connection of high voltage customer installations to Ausgrid’s distribution network. The standard applies to the planning, design, construction and approval of high voltage customer connections and is issued for use by Ausgrid staff and Accredited Service Providers involved with the connection of high voltage installations to the distribution system, and as a reference for field, technical and engineering staff.

The document establishes the minimum requirements to ensure high voltage customer installations are safe, reliable and compliant with regulatory obligations, and compatible with Ausgrid’s network and operational practices. It also outlines design responsibilities, approval pathways and interfaces with other relevant Ausgrid Network Standards and legislative requirements.

Scope

This document has been prepared to meet the needs of Ausgrid, Accredited Service Providers and Customers. The requirements specified in this Network Standard are supplementary to the Australian Wiring Rules AS 3000, Australian Standard AS2067-Substations and high voltage installations exceeding 1kV a.c., Service and Installation Rules of NSW and other related Ausgrid’s Electricity Supply Standards and Network Standards as outlined in this document which specify minimum requirements for High Voltage Customer Connections (HVCs).
