NS291: Stand Alone Power Systems

This Network Standard sets out Ausgrid’s minimum requirements for the quality of electricity supply delivered by regulated Stand Alone Power Systems (SAPS).
It defines the performance criteria for frequency, voltage, reliability and system stability to ensure customers supplied by SAPS receive a level of service consistent with Ausgrid’s network expectations. The standard applies to the operation of SAPS and does not prescribe detailed design requirements, which are addressed on a site‑specific basis to suit individual load and location characteristics.

Scope

This Network Standard sets out the minimum requirements for the quality of supply for a regulated Stand Alone Power System (SAPS). This does not cover the design requirements for SAPS which are done to meet the unique site and load requirements.
