Project overview

Ausgrid is removing 18km of redundant overhead 33kV power lines between Awaba and Boolaroo. These lines are no longer needed and their removal will reduce maintenance costs and improve the local environment.

As part of this work, a new 340m section of overhead line will be installed at Fassifern to allow the existing network to continue operating safely once the redundant lines are removed.

Construction is now underway and is expected to be complete by the end of 2026.

What to expect during construction

We will keep residents and nearby properties informed through notification letters ahead of works in your area.
These will outline what work is planned, any temporary impacts, and the steps we are taking to minimise disruption.

During construction you may expect:

  • Some noise during working hours
  • Temporary changes to traffic or access near work areas

We will make every effort to keep any disruption to a minimum and will finish works as quickly as possible.
