Lidcombe Zone Substation Upgrade
In progress.
Upgrading two major Darlinghurst electricity cables, improving network reliability and supporting future demand.
Project overview
Ausgrid is replacing Transformer No. 2 at the Lidcombe Zone Substation. The existing transformer has reached the end of its serviceable life and needs to be replaced to keep the electricity network safe and reliable.
As part of this work, a larger replacement unit is being installed to meet the ongoing electricity needs of the area.
The transformer works are taking place within the existing substation boundary. The feeder works are contained within East Adderley Street. There are no impacts to surrounding properties or residents.
Community consultation
Due to the location of the works, there are no anticipated impacts on the surrounding community. Residents and businesses in the area do not need to take any action.
