Project overview

Ausgrid has been progressively upgrading the Surry Hills Zone Substation, replacing ageing 11kV switchgear with new equipment to maintain a safe and reliable electricity supply for the local area.

The principal works are now complete. The remaining works involve decommissioning redundant network equipment, finalising signal connections, and general site tidying. The majority of this work takes place within the substation, with some minor works expected to continue into next year.

Community consultation

Ausgrid has been in contact with residents during the course of this project and will continue to keep the local community informed as the remaining works progress.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact us via phone on 1800 604 765 (free call) or by email at majorprojects@ausgrid.com.au.
