How to apply for the Bright Spark Apprentice Program
Application Steps
There are six steps to our application and assessment process.
Apply
Submit your application online. This includes some simple application questions, trade preferences and your resume.
Assessments
Complete online aptitude assessments. You will have 7 days to complete the assessments with Testgrid covering safety, quantitative reasoning, mechanical reasoning, abstract reasoning and literacy.
Video interview
Showcase your passion with video responses to our questions via a one-way video interview.
Assessment centre
The assessment centre brings together a range of activities to assess candidate suitability against the role requirements, including a structured interview, aptitude assessment and practical assessments.
Background checks
Candidates progressing to this stage will complete reference checks, criminal history, working rights and in person medical and functional assessments.
Offer
Congratulations! If successful, you will receive a formal offer via email to commence your apprenticeship in January 2027. You will also attend events for PPE sizing and meet the
team and your future peers.
Application Tips
- Show your motivation: Highlight your passion for an Ausgrid apprenticeship e.g. researching all trades
- Stand out: Tell us what makes you unique and how you can contribute to our success
- Practice numeracy: Sharpen your skills with practice numeracy assessments available online via a Google search
- Maintain professionalism: Show your commitment through professional attitude e.g. attention to detail and holding to timelines with applicant submissions
- Be punctual: Impress us by being on time for all scheduled interviews, appointments, and events
- Prepare physically: Strengthen yourself for medical functional assessments and the physical demands of the apprenticeship
- Communicate openly: Foster open communication by sharing your thoughts and asking questions throughout the process
- Be autonomous: Take initiative by directly asking questions or seeking feedback.
